Description |
The Legislative Assembly established the Oregon Heritage Commission in 1995 to provide a forum in which agencies with statewide responsibilities meet to coordinate the heritage programs they provide for Oregonians, informed by the views of nine public members appointed by the Governor. As such, the commission is a connector and catalyst for the hundreds of organizations and thousands of Oregonians devoted to preserving and interpreting Oregon's heritage resources.
Among its services for Oregonians are heritage and museum grant programs, an Oregon heritage listserv, the Heritage Field Journal, and an annual statewide heritage conference.
