Through its research initiatives, partnerships, publications and projects, the Center provides reliable tools that clarify and confirm the place of culture and creativity in our national life.  The Center’s research priorities focus around eight issue areas:

    The Creative Sector
    Creativity and the Law
    Globalization
    Access and Equity
    Heritage and Preservation
    Communities
    The National Investment
    Education and the Creative Workforce

The Center is currently engaged in several major research projects:

Art, Culture and the National Agenda
The Center is exploring the new policy landscape through a a multi-stage project on national policy challenges in the arts and culture called Art, Culture and the National Agenda.  Designed to highlight policy options for the next Congress and President, Art, Culture and the National Agenda also seeks to establish the vocabulary for a continuing national dialogue about the value of creativity in our individual and collective lives.

Research Scan
In an effort to catalog research activity in the field of cultural policy and indicate gaps where future research is needed, the Center is conducting a scan of ongoing research. Results will be updated monthly. Please send us your project details for inclusion.
