| Interns at the Center work directly with staff members on
research and communications projects and aid the Center administratively. In
addition to researching various topics related to the arts, culture, and public policy,
other responsibilities may include editing and maintaining Center's web site; preparing
for and participating in conferences and other events; assisting with communications and
PR; and performing some clerical and administrative tasks. During the summer, the Center brings outside experts to the conference table to discuss issues specific to the field of arts and culture and issues shared by think tanks and non-profits. The Center for Arts and Culture at Gallery Place, walking distance from the MCI Center, Chinatown, and the National Portrait Gallery. Less than a block from the Metro, the Center is easily accessible. While the Center does not secure housing for interns, staff members can guide candidates to local housing resources. Interns are responsible for arranging academic credit with their home institutions, and the Center is happy to provide supervisory statements and contacts.
